Litchfield Park, Ariz. – Minnesota Crookston women's golf competed in another tournament hosted by Southwest Minnesota State on Monday and Tuesday in Arizona.
 
This tournament was the SMSU Spring Invite at the Wigwam Blue Course in Litchfield Park.
 
Minnesota Crookston shot 342 on day two, after shooting a 325 on day one, to finish the SMSU Spring Invite in ninth place.
With 12 teams in the field, including a Division I school in Bucknell University, the Golden Eagles got off to a fantastic start on the first day of the tournament, finishing the first 18 holes near the top half of the field in sixth place.

Ainsley McLain (Fr., Grafton, N.D.) paced the Golden Eagles on Monday afternoon, shooting a 77 on the day for a +5, good for a tie for ninth. McLain finished with three birdies in the first round and seven pars.
 
Anaka Lysne (So., Wahpeton, N.D.) and 
Clara Hanson (Jr., Grand Forks, N.D.) each finished the first round in the top-25 and shot eight over par and nine over par, respectively. Lysne parred half of her first 18 holes, finishing with nine pars in the opening round.
 
Hanson led the way on day two after shooting an 80, moving up two spots on the leaderboard to a tie for 22
nd. McLain shot an 85 on the day and finished in a tie for 25
th, while Lysne placed in a tie for 31
st.
 
What's Next
The maroon and gold will be off for nearly a month as they will next compete at the Augustana Invitational on April 8-9 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
