CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston equestrian team is set to open the 2024 portion of their schedule at DeHaan Equestrian Center in Brookings, S.D., against South Dakota State University. The meet is the NCEA Meet of the Week, a first for the Golden Eagles.

Minnesota Crookston is 0-3 in NCEA action this season. Their best showing was November 4 against South Dakota State, falling 16-2. The Golden Eagles also competed in the fall against the University of California Davis, and Delaware State University. The Jackrabbits enter the weekend with a 2-5 mark.

In their meet with the Jackrabbits in the fall, the Golden Eagles picked up their most points in a win since 2021. The Golden Eagles were led by a win in horsemanship by Raeanna Danielson (So., Harris, Minn.), and a victory in reining by Marley Halse (Fr., Mountlake Terrace, Wash.).

South Dakota State competed January 26 with an 8-7 loss to Delaware State, and January 27 with a 17-1 loss at Southern Methodist University.
