Minnesota Crookston Tennis Set to Host Bemidji State and Concordia College

CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston tennis program will compete in a pair of home matches at Choice Health & Fitness in Grand Forks, N.D. The Golden Eagles will play non-conference tilts against Bemidji State University Saturday, February 10 at 12 p.m., and Sunday, February 11 at 9:45 a.m., versus Concordia College (Minn.). 

Minnesota Crookston enters the weekend with a 1-0 mark after picking up a 7-0 victory over the University of Minnesota Morris last Friday. The Beavers open their 2024 season Saturday against the Golden Eagles, while the Cobbers enter the weekend with a 2-4 mark. 

The Golden Eagles are led by Madeleine Schneider (Sr., Gartringen, Germany) at the No. 1 singles slot with a 1-0 mark. Daniela de Lucas Rivera (Fr., Madrid, Spain) made her collegiate debut Friday and is 1-0 at No. 2 singles. Ariadna Solis Guals (Fr., Santpedor, Spain) also made her collegiate debut and is 1-0 at No. 3 singles. At No. 4 singles, Blaike Zander (Jr., Bismarck, N.D.) is 1-0 for the Golden Eagles. Nadia Cases Mundet (Fr., Barcelona, Spain) made her college debut and is 1-0 for Minnesota Crookston. Kavya Singh (Jr., Agra, India) enters the week with a 1-0 mark at No. 6 singles.

In doubles, the No. 1 pair of De Lucas Rivera and Solis Guals enter the week with a 1-0 record. At No. 2 doubles, Schneider and Zander are 1-0. At the No. 3 spot, Cases Mundet and Kaydance Hinn (Jr., Coon Rapids, Minn.) are 1-0. 

Bemidji State went 2-15 (1-10 NSIC) during the 2023 slate. Laura Burger returns after posting a 1-8 mark at No. 3 singles, and a 2-6 mark at the No. 4 slot. Isabela Nelson went 1-8 at No. 4 singles, and 0-8 at the No. 5 spot. 

In doubles, Nelson and Emilia Sand went 1-7 at No. 2 doubles. The Beavers have six new players on their 2024 roster. 

The Cobbers are guided by Raquel Egge, who has a 1-4 mark at the No. 1 singles spot. Mary Skorich comes in with an 0-5 record at the No. 2 spot. Anna Hacker is 0-5 at the No. 3 slot. 

At No. 1 doubles, Egge and Erin Borchard are 2-2. At the No. 2 doubles slot, Hacker and Skorich are 0-3.
