BUNKER HILL, Ill. - The University of Minnesota Crookston trap team placed seventh of 16 teams at the 2024 USA College Clay Target League National Championship at Brittney Shooting Park in Bunker Hill, Ill. Minnesota Crookston competed in the National Championship Saturday, November 2 and Sunday, November 3. 

The Golden Eagles defeated Bethany Lutheran College, Alfred State College, Southwestern Wisconsin Technical College, Ferris State University, Paul Smiths College, University of Illinois, Mid Michigan College, Maine Maritime Academy, and Illinois College.

Garrison Worthen was Minnesota Crookston's top gun with a total score of 97. He placed 16th overall. Lily Krona tallied a 95, and was 37th. Kelsey Harms placed 42nd, hitting 94 targets. Heather Kaup placed 49th, connecting on 94 targets. Jayden Bergerson scored a 93. Gracie Lunsetter, and Codey Wolff each tallied a 90. Hunter Kasprowicz scored an 89. Allison Jepson tallied an 89, while Collin Schlomann, and Kallen Littler each notched 88's. Ellen Payne shot an 87. Hunter Pierson scored 85. Louis Siegel tallied an 82, as did Rebecca Morstad. Chase Nelson and Mallory Kowalke each notched 81's, while Ethan Benedict scored an 80.

Worthen placed 10th in the High Gun - Gold Male standings. Harms placed seventh in the High Gun - Gold Female standings, while Krona was ninth. Kaup placed 11th.

Jepson placed tied for ninth in the High Gun - Silver Female standings. 

Lindenwood University edged Lake Land College for the National Championship. Jaxson Wilson of Lake Land College was the High Gun overall. Gunnar Wuebben of the University of Illinois earned the High Gun - Gold Male. Mae Acton of Lindenwood was the High Gun - Gold Female.

Minnesota Crookston will compete in the spring season in 2025.
