MINOT, N.D. - The University of Minnesota Crookston women's cross country team posted their best finish in school history, placing 11th of 15 teams at the 2024 NSIC Championship at the Souris Valley Golf Course in Minot, N.D. The Golden Eagles set their lowest average at the NSIC Championship and in program history of 23:43.
Madison Hilliard (Jr., Jacksonville, N.C.) broke the school record previously set by Anna Grabowski (Sr., Waterdown, Ontario). Hilliard finished 46th with a time of 22:41.7. Hilliard had the highest finish of a Golden Eagle women's student-athlete at the NSIC Championship.
Caroline Kuehne (Fr., Long Prairie, Minn.) set the school's freshman record and finished just two spots behind Hilliard in 48th, for the second-highest finish of any Golden Eagle in program history. Kuehne posted a personal record time of 22:51.9, taking 48 seconds off her time.
Anna Grabowski (Sr., Waterdown, Ontario) finished in 23:26.3. Grace Alwardt (So., Lake Elsinore, Calif.) set a personal mark of 23:59.7, taking 46 seconds off her time. Madison Elijah (Sr., Hebron, Ind.) was just off her personal record, clocking in at 25:39.7. Eva Robinson (Fr., Cavalier, N.D.), racing in her first-ever NSIC Championship, notched a personal mark of 26:20.4. Catie Neumann (So., Alexandria, Minn.) notched a personal mark of 26:55.2. Katelyn Mack (Sr., Frazee, Minn.) finished in 26:59.7. Emma Williams (So., Nashwauk, Minn.) posted a time of 27:59.2.
Augustana University won the team championship, while University of Mary's Alyssa Becker was the individual champion with a time of 19:51.2.
The Golden Eagles will compete at the NCAA Central Region Championship Saturday, November 9 in Joplin, Mo.
