SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The University of Minnesota Crookston soccer team fell 3-0 to Augustana University Friday, October 25 at Morstad Field in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Vikings scored two goals in the first period, and added a second in the final frame to pick up the victory.

The Golden Eagles dropped to 1-11-2 (1-9-1) with Friday's loss, while Augustana improved to 8-4-2 (7-2-1 NSIC). 

Minnesota Crookston finished the evening with two shots, one on frame. The Vikings notched 18 shots, with 10 on goal. Tyler Chernecki (Fr., F, Winnipeg, Manitoba) had the lone shot on goal for the Golden Eagles, while Tessa VanOverbeke (So., D/F, Hartford, S.D.) added a shot. 

The Vikings were propelled by four shots from Macie Haggerty. Audrey Parnell chipped in three, while Madelyn White, and Laina Souerdyke notched two. 

Augustana found the back of the net in the 17th minute to set the tone of the game, with Parnell scoring off a helper from Delaney Kost. The Vikings moved the advantage to 2-0 in the 31st minute when Ally Hamski notched a tally, off an assist from Halle Miller. 

Augustana sealed the deal with a 77th minute goal from Connor Rylance, with an assist from Ellie Hurt.

Jordan Metz (Fr., GK, Lino Lakes, Minn.) played the full 90 for Minnesota Crookston in goal, allowing three goals, and notching seven saves.

Taya Baker picked up the shutout for the Vikings, with one save.

Minnesota Crookston wraps up the weekend Sunday, October 27 at 1 p.m., against Wayne State College in Wayne, Neb.
