SIOUX CENTER, Iowa - The University of Minnesota Crookston women's cross country team finished fifth of 10 teams Saturday, October 12 at the Dordt University Cross Country Course in Sioux Center, Iowa. The Golden Eagles had their fastest 6K in school history, and Minnesota Crookston notched their highest team finish ever.
Anna Grabowski (Sr., Waterdown, Ontario) had the first Top 10 finish as an individual in school history, placing eighth. Grabowski also broke her own school record with a time of 22:50.50. Madison Hilliard (Jr., Jacksonville, N.C.) also broke the previous school mark for the 6K and set her personal record with a time of 23:05.60. Hilliard placed 16th. Caroline Kuehne (Fr., Long Prairie, Minn.) took nearly two minutes off her time to set a personal record, finishing in 23:39.60. Grace Alwardt (So., Lake Elsinore, Calif.) posted a time of 24:59.70. Katelyn Mack (Sr., Frazee, Minn.) tallied a personal mark of 25:21.30. Madison Elijah (Sr., Hebron, Ind.) set a personal record of 25:36.20. Catie Neumann (So., Alexandria, Minn.) had a personal mark of 27:06.90. Emma Williams (So., Nashwauk, Minn.) finished in 27:56.90.
Dordt University won the team championship for their home tournament. The Golden Eagles picked up wins over NSIC foes Wayne State College, and Southwest Minnesota State University. Corinne Braun of Dordt was the individual medalist with a time of 21:52.60.
The Golden Eagles will next compete Saturday, October 26 at the NSIC Championships in Minot, N.D.
