Lysne Sets School Record Shooting a 70 in Round One; Two Team Records Fall as Golden Eagles Finish Fourth in Lake City

Lake City, Minn. – Anaka Lysne (So., Wahpeton, N.D.) broke her own school record by shooting a 70, leading the Golden Eagles to a school record 312 in round one at the Watkins Invite, propelling the Golden Eagles to a fourth place finish out of eight teams.
 
Minnesota Crookston finished the 36 holes with a team score of 640, just three strokes behind Concordia-St. Paul for third and five strokes ahead of Minot State for fifth place.
 
The records were definitely broken this afternoon. The Golden Eagles had a two-round score of 640, which broke the record of 643, set last year at the Tipsinah Mounds Invitational. Minnesota Crookston's round one score of 312 set the school record by seven strokes, breaking last year's score of 319.
 
Lysne closed out round one exceptionally strong, birdying on five of seven holes to close out the round.
 
Individually, Minnesota Crookston had two players join Lysne, who finished in a tie for fifth, in the top-20. Ainsley McLain (Fr., Grafton, N.D.) finished with a 158 through 18 holes, including a 78 in round one. Clara Hanson (Jr., Grand Forks, N.D.) finished in a tie for 18th after shooting an 80 in both rounds. Lauren Bowyer (So., Ivanhoe, Minn.) shot an 84 in the final round this afternoon.
 
The Golden Eagles will head south once again next weekend at the Mustang Invitational, hosted by Southwest Minnesota State.
