11/4/2023 6:28:00 PM

Crookston, Minn. - As the Golden Eagles get set to face off with the Fighting Hawks, the netminders for the night are Adam Goody (Fr., G, Airdrie, Alberta) for the Golden Eagles and Andrew Blahy for the Fighting Hawks.

It took just under two minutes before Jackson Fuller (Jr., F, Bloomington, Minn.) opened the scoring. 20 seconds later it was Mitchell Coleman (Jr., F, Hatton, N.D.) putting the Golden Eagles up 2-0. Four minutes later Griffen Sonstegard (So., D, Baudette, Minn.) buried the puck into the back of the net and the Golden Eagles were up 3-0.

Anthony Foster (Fr., F, Warroad, Minn.) would start the second period right where he left off last week with a goal of his own. Nathan Ayotte (Fr., F, St. Jean Baptiste, Manitoba) was the next name called, scoring to make it a 5-0 contest. Not long after, Logan Syrup (Jr., F, Park River, N.D.) found twine and the Golden Eagles kept the foot on the gas with a powerplay goal from Tyler Zahradka (Sr., F, Grand Forks, N.D.)

The third period was less than a minute old when the Golden Eagles made it 8-0 on the goal from Mitchell Coleman, his second of the game. Eight seconds later, Parker Sunderland (Jr., D, Bagley, Minn.) scored on a wrist shot to make it a 9-0 game. Fox Dodds (Jr., F, Watford City, Minn.) made it 10-0 with less than 10 to play. Tyler Zahradka would add his second of the game with just under eight minutes to play and the dominance of the Golden Eagles continued.

With 5:46 to play in the third, the Fighting Hawks broke through the wall and scored on a goal by Jackson Nelson. Just over a minute later it was 11-2 with a Fighting Hawks goal from Pavel Rettig.

The Golden Eagles got the 11-2 win, outshooting their opponent 70-34. Adam Goody made some big stops in the win. The Golden Eagles return tomorrow, Saturday, November 4 at 2 P.M. against the Fighting Hawks.
