CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston western equestrian team will continue their 2020-21 season with four NCEA matches this weekend in Brookings, S.D. The Golden Eagles will take on South Dakota State University and Delaware State University in doubleheaders Friday, February 26 and Saturday, February 27.

The Golden Eagles have competed in one NCEA match and two IHSA shows so far this season. UMN Crookston fell 9-1 at the University of Tennessee at Martin Friday, February 12 in Martin, Tenn. The Golden Eagles were led by Alyssa Evavold, who won her point in Horsemanship. UMN Crookston had a pair of strong showings at two home shows at UTOC last weekend. The Golden Eagles won High Point Team honors on Saturday. Evavold earned High Point Rider for UMN Crookston Saturday, while Olivia Becker was named Reserve High Point Rider Sunday. Last weekend, the Golden Eagles picked up wins from Rae Ann Michel, Savanna Weber, Fahren Kolpack, Evavold, and Becker.
