St. Cloud, Minn.—Minnesota Crookston women's basketball was looking to head into Halenbeck Hall and knock off the Huskies of St. Cloud State on Friday night.
The Huskies used a 14-4 run in the final 3:24 to knock off the Golden Eagles and pick up a win inside their own gym.
The Golden Eagles fall to 3-10 (3-8 NSIC), while the Huskies improve to 8-3 (5-2 NSIC).

The Huskies would jump out to a 5-0 lead, but a pair of
Haylee Wheeler (Fr., F, Lakeville, Minn.) and a jumper from
Bren Fox (Jr., F, Norwood Young America, Minn.) cut the Husky lead to three, at 7-4.
The Golden Eagles would struggle to score in the first quarter, getting another Fox jumper toward the end of the half. SCSU would lead 15-6 following the first 10 minutes.
An
Emma Carpenter (So., G, Eagan, Minn.) three would help get the Golden Eagles going, trailing by eight midway through the second quarter. The Golden Eagles would trail 25-15 heading into the halftime break.
Coming out of the halftime break, the Golden Eagles came out firing. Minnesota Crookston got three's on two straight possessions from Carpenter and
Julia Peplinski (Jr., F, Hustisford, Wis.) to cut the lead to just four, in favor of the Huskies.
Later on in the third, a Peplinski layup would create the first tie of the night at 29 apiece. A
Mary Burke (R-So., F, Virginia, Minn.) layup would tie things up once again at 33.
Heading into the final quarter, a pair of layups from
Kylie Post (Jr., G, Corcoran, Minn.) and Fox would tie things up at 38.
Trailing 45-42, an old-fashioned three-point play from
Jes Mertens (Fr., G, Devils Lake, N.D.) would knot things up at 45.
The Huskies would outscore Minnesota Crookston 14-4 the final 3:26 of the ball game to knock off Minnesota Crookston.
Key Stats
The Golden Eagles were led by Carpenter's 14 points on 4-7 shooting from the field. Fox also added double-figures, scoring 10 points, while pulling down five rebounds. Mertens and Post added eight and six, respectively.
As a team, Minnesota Crookston shot 36 percent from the field on the night and just 23.5 percent from deep in the game. The Golden Eagles were outrebounded 40-28.
