CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-15, 25-13,25-12) to No. 8 Wayne State College (Neb.) Saturday, November 6 at Gary Senske Court at Lysaker Gymnasium.
UMN Crookston honored seniors
Bailey Mulcahy (Sr., DS, Fertile, Minn.) and
Lauren Wallace (R-Sr., OH, Bloomington, Minn.) prior to Saturday's game. The Golden Eagles fall to 1-22 (0-18 NSIC) with Saturday's loss. Wayne State moved to 20-6 (13-5 NSIC) with the victory.
Minnesota Crookston was guided by eight kills from
Bailey Schaefer (Fr., OH, Brandon, Minn.). Wallace,
Charlee Krieg (So., RS, Cavalier, N.D.), and
Mara Weisensel (So., MH, New Ulm, Minn.) each added six kills.
Natalie Koke (R-Jr., S, Caledonia, Wis.) led the Golden Eagles with 25 assists.
Defensively, Wallace paced the Golden Eagles with seven digs.
Wayne State looked to Maggie Brahmer with 13 kills and a .722 hitting percentage. Taya Beller added 11 kills and hit .733. Jazlin DeHaan finished with seven kills. Rachel Walker paced the offense to a .435 hitting percentage with 33 assists.
Alaina Wolff had nine digs. Brahmer finished with two solo blocks.
Minnesota Crookston will finish the 2021 season on the road. They are set to play No. 14 Southwest Minnesota State University Friday, November 12 at 6 p.m. in Marshall, Minn. The Golden Eagles take on University of Sioux Falls Saturday, November 13 at 4 p.m. in Sioux Falls, S.D.
