ST. PAUL, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston women's basketball team opened the season with a 95-32 loss to Concordia University-St. Paul Sat., Jan. 2 at Gangelhoff Center in St. Paul, Minn. The Golden Eagles were out-scored 47-16 in the first two quarters and were unable to overcome their counterparts from Concordia-St. Paul.

Concordia-St. Paul shot 36-of-60 for 60.0 percent from the field, and they were an astonishing 11-of-19 from beyond the arc for 57.9 percent. The Golden Bears did struggle from the charity stripe where they were 12-of-24 for 50.0 percent.
Concordia-St. Paul dominated on the boards Saturday with an edge of 50-27 for the day.
The Golden Eagles struggled from the field as they went 13-of-58 for 22.4 percent. UMN Crookston shot 2-of-13 for 15.4 percent from distance. They finished the game with four assists to 27 turnovers.

Kylea Praska (Jr., G, Thief River Falls, Minn.) each added six points.
The Golden Bears had four players who tallied double figures on the day. Meghan DuBois led the way with a double-double of 14 points and 10 assists. Lindsey Becher added 12 points and seven boards, while Danielle Schaub had 11 points. Sarah Kuma came off the bench for 10 points.
Big Runs
The Golden Bears started the game on an 8-0 run led by four points from Sidney Wentland. Concordia-St. Paul would utilize the early run to catapult themselves to a 21-10 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Golden Bears opened the second quarter on another major run with a 17-0 rally and they would not look back the rest of the way taking the 95-32 win over Minnesota Crookston.
