CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston women's tennis program announced the addition of Tasha Achermann (5-7, Motley, Minn./Staples-Motley H.S.) to their signing class. She joins Michelle Swyter (5-3, Perham, Minn./South Dakota State University) as signees for the Golden Eagles.

"Tasha brings familiarity to the program, as she was a high school teammate of Ashley Smith and will add depth and competitiveness to our team," said Head Coach Krayton Nash. "We are excited to have her!"

Achermann adds to a Minnesota Crookston squad that returns Karli Renney (Sr., Detroit Lakes, Minn.), Samantha Hartung (Jr., Albany, Minn.), Ashley Chomyn (So., Winnipeg, Manitoba), Athena DiMario Done (Sr., Windsor, Ontario), and Latafale Niumeitolu (So., Sandy, Utah). She will join Swyter as the two newcomers to the squad for the 2021 season.

Minnesota Crookston has continued to improve under Coach Nash in three seasons. The Golden Eagles have a strong core returning that will be supplemented by the addition of Swyter. Swyter gives Minnesota Crookston an area student-athlete, who is a great major fit at Minnesota Crookston as a wildlife management major.

The student-athlete listed as having signed a National Letter of Intent or Offer of Admission to play women's tennis at the University of Minnesota Crookston has been verified by the Minnesota Crookston compliance office once they sign the National Letter of Intent or once the student-athlete has accepted an Offer of Admission for Minnesota Crookston.

She was born May 17, 2002. Achermann plans to major in exercise science and wellness at Minnesota Crookston. She is the daughter of Kathy Achermann. Achermann earned the Academic All-State Award.
