Hola, Pura Vida!
Last full day of our Costa Rica trip was today! Today we started at Punta Leona with yet another delicious breakfast. Our buffet style breakfast included everything from the typical Gallo Pinto and fresh fruit, to fantastic bakery items and French toast!
After breakfast we had the beautiful Morning to hang out by the pool or take a trip to one of the two amazing beaches Punta Leona has to offer! Because the dazzling Costa Rican sun was out, the majority of us decided to catch some rays by the pool. However, with dazzling sun also comes dazzling U.V rays and copious amounts of sunscreen. With a U.V scale that reached 11 today we made sure we were well protected! Enjoying the Costa Rican sun while listening to the waves of the Pacific Ocean and sounds of the Macaws flying overhead only added to this amazing stay at Punta Leona!
Our next stop was to the common tourist spot before San José. A cute little spot with shops and a restaurant called Orotina. While there we ate at a cute restaurant named El Jardín, where it was once again proved that Costa Rican food is phenomenal! We also did one last stop at a tourist shop where we could buy anything ranging from clothes to intricately designed and hand painted items such as ornaments and sculptures. We also were able to try smoothies made from the fresh Costa Rican fruit we have been getting so used to on this trip! Our smoothies came in flavors like peach-mango, kiwi-watermelon, and mango-orange.
With our smoothies in tow, we headed back to San José where we geared up for game three of the trip! This wasn't just any team, this was the team Meli has played with all summer! This relationship led to a fun and competitive atmosphere that then made for some amazing volleyball. Once again it was amazing to see Minnesota-Crookston fans out in the stands!
Our last stop of our last day included one more fantastic meal at Restaurante La Gallera! We were treated to an amazing dinner and yummy dessert. We also had the most amazing company of Meli's parents! We talked about our trip, telling stories of monkeys stealing Doritos and waves that were tougher than football players! Overall this trip was an amazing experience that we will keep close to our hearts forever!
