CROOKSTON, Minn.- The University of Minnesota Crookston women's tennis team is hosting their only pair of home matches this season. The NSIC matchups that will be taking place will be against University of Mary Fri., Feb 22. at 3:30 p.m. and Minnesota State University Moorhead Sat., Feb 23. at 1:30 p.m.
Minnesota Crookston is 0-5 on the season. University of Mary comes in with a record of 4-1. Minnesota State University Moorhead has a 5-1 record on the season.
The Golden Eagles are paced by
Diane Cilengi (Jr., Johannesburg, South Africa) and
Reanne Erickson (Sr., Fargo, N.D.). Last weekend against Sioux Falls
Ashley Smith (Fr., Staples, Minn.) and Cilengi lost a close doubles match by a score of 7-5. Look for them to improve and possibly take a doubles match in their only home match of the season.
University of Mary is led by Tasha Dembo and Yusra Hegy in singles play. In their last match against Gustavus Adolphus College Dembo and Hegy swept both of their singles matches as well as their doubles match. In singles Dembo is 3-2 and Hegy is 3-0. In doubles they are 2-1 together.
Minnesota State University Moorhead is led by Julia Geske who is slotted in the No. 1 spot and is 5-1 in singles matches. Olivia Keelin is slotted in the No. 5 spot and is 5-1 in singles matches as well. Together Julia Geske and Olivia Keelin are 5-1 in doubles play.
