ROOKSTON, Minn. - This weekend, the Minnesota Crookston women's tennis team head to Gillett Wellness Center in Bemidji, Minn. for a pair of matches between the University of Sioux Falls and Augustana University. They play the University of Sioux Falls at 7 p.m. Sat., Feb. 16 and Augustana University Sunday Feb., 17. The Golden Eagles are currently 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the NSIC. They look to pick up their first win this season.
The Golden Eagles are led by
Reanne Erickson (Sr., Fargo, N.D.) at No. 1 singles. Erickson picked up two game victories against University of Minnesota Duluth last weekend. She will look to continue to improve heading into the weekend. At the No. 1 doubles slot, Erickson teams up with
Ashley Smith (Fr., Staples, Minn.). The pair took a game off their opponents from St. Cloud State University last weekend.
The University of Sioux Falls is heading into the weekend with a 0-2 NSIC and overall record. Three of their players (junior Victoria Ambrosio-Cueto, sophomore Megan Quandt, and sophomore Joelle Thorfinnson) all have one singles win this season. Sophomores Rachel Klatt and Joelle Thorfinnson have the only doubles win of the season. The Cougars look to get their first overall win against the Golden Eagles.
Undefeated at 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the NSIC are the Augustana Vikings. For singles, the Vikings record is currently 23-1 with a 0.958 percentage. They have strong play in doubles as well with a record of 11-1 and a percentage of .917. The Vikings look to continue their undefeated record this weekend against the Golden Eagles.
