FARGO, N.D. – The University of Minnesota Crookston women's tennis team fell 9-0 to Minnesota State University Moorhead Sun., March 25 at Courts Plus in Fargo, N.D.
The Golden Eagles fall to 0-11 with Sunday's loss at the hands of the Dragons. MSU Moorhead moves to 12-2 with the win.
In doubles, the No. 1 pair of
Reanne Erickson (Jr., Fargo, N.D.) and
Whitney Erickson (Sr., Spring valley, Minn.) had the best performance of the day as they tok three games against Swenne Albert and Alexis Konecne in an 8-3 loss. At the No. 2 slot,
Adrianna Tiede (So., LeCenter, Minn.) and
Hanna Ruckheim (So., Parkers Prairie, Minn.) were upended 8-0 by Alyssa Wolf and Olivia Keelin. At the No. 3 spot, Hanna Zhao (Jr. Guangzhou, China) and Karli Renney (Fr., Detroit Lakes, Minn.) fell 8-0 to Ricquel Ramsbottom and Emma Zamora.
In singles,
Whitney Erickson was defeated 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles by Julie Geske. At the No. 2 spot,
Reanne Erickson was upended 6-0, 6-0 by Albert. At No. 3 singles, Tiede was defeated 6-0, 6-0 by Wolf. At the No. 4 spot, Ruckheim fell 6-0, 6-0 to Ramsbottom. At No. 4 singles, JKonecne defeated Zhao, 6-0, 6-0. Renney rounded out singles, by falling 6-0, 6-0 to Zamora.
Minnesota Crookston returns for their last two matches of the season April 6 and April 7 as they take on Minnesota State University in Minnetonka, Minn., and Southwest Minnesota State University in Lakeville, Minn.
