CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston volleyball team is set to host their Northwest Minnesota rival Bemidji State University Tues., Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. at Lysaker Gymnasium. The game will be Faculty/Staff night for the Golden Eagles, as well as Mental Health Awareness and Comfy Tuesday as fans are encouraged to dress in comfy clothes and receive a free pair of Golden Eagle slippers.
The Golden Eagles and Beavers will meet for the third time on the season as they played in non-conference action Aug. 25 in Kenosha, Wis., and in conference play Sept. 11 in Bemidji, Minn. Bemidji State owns a 2-0 advantage on Minnesota Crookston.
The Golden Eagles enter Tuesday with a 3-16 (1-10 NSIC) mark. Bemidji State sits at a 5-14 (2-9 NSIC) record.

Minnesota Crookston has a young squad that is still continually improving and getting more competitive against a tough NSIC schedule. The Golden Eagles come into Tuesday averaging 9.2 kills per set guided by
Deaira Gresham (So., OH, Maplewood, Minn.) with 2.66 kills per set.
Porsha Porath (Fr., OH, Windom, Minn.) is tallying 2.11 kills per set, while
Kaitlin Sikkink (R-Jr., MH, St. Charles, Minn.) is notching 1.75 kills per set and hitting .245 on the season.
At setter,
Sydney Kruisselbrink (So., S, Rochester, Minn.) is averaging 7.30 assists per set and helping the Golden Eagles to a .111 hitting percentage.
Defensively, Minnesota Crookston has been led by
Ali Schueler (R-Jr., Lib., Howards Grove, Wis.) with 3.87 digs per set, while
Lauren Ulibarri (Jr., DS, Flagstaff, Ariz.) is notching 2.48 digs per set. The Golden Eagles are averaging 16.1 digs per set. On the block, Minnesota Crookston is tallying 1.36 blocks per set lifted by 0.58 blocks per set by Sikkink.
Bemidji State Preview
The Beavers enter Crookston on a five-match losing streak dating back to a 3-1 win over UMary Sept. 21. Bemidji State is averaging 10.7 kills per set guided by 2.52 kills per set by Anna Averkamp. Newcomer Greta Paszek is coming off the bench for 2.02 kills per set, while Julie Touchett is averaging 1.83 kills per set and hitting .296 on the season.
At setter, Mary Campbell continues to sub in for the injured Maddie Mackinac. Campbell is averaging 4.71 assists per set. She is helping the Beavers to a .178 hitting percentage on the 2018 season.
Defensively, Bemidji State averages 14.2 digs per set and 1.54 blocks per set. The Beavers look to libero Emma Hallmann with 3.62 digs per set. On the block, Maddie Filipak leads the way with 0.73 blocks per set, while Touchett has 0.68 blocks per set.
