Minnesota Crookston comes into the week with a 13-15 (7-9 NSIC) mark. The Golden Eagles will look to get 14 or more wins for the third-consecutive season as they open up their weekend series with Augustana Saturday. The Golden Eagles have won 52 games in three seasons as Head Coach Steve Gust ushered in a new era of baseball in Crookston prior to the 2015 season following just two wins in back-to-back seasons in 2013 and 2014.

The Golden Eagles are led by their leadoff hitter Anthony Stewart (R-Jr., OF, Oak Harbor, Wash.), who is coming off an impressive accomplishment Wednesday as the center fielder had an inside the park grand slam. Stewart is hitting .296 on the season and leads the team with 25 runs scored, three home runs, 18 RBI's and 10 stolen bases.

In addition to Stewart, Reed Hjelle (So., 1B, East Grand Forks, Minn.) is having a strong season at the plate. Hjelle is batting .350 with 14 runs scored, five doubles, three triples and 17 RBI's. James Cullinane (Jr., OF, San Francisco, Calif.) comes in batting .262 with 16 runs scored and eight RBI's on the season.

The Minnesota Crookston pitching corps has had an impressive season as they come in with a 4.14 ERA on the season. The Golden Eagles look to freshman Justin Yutrzenka (RHP, Argyle, Minn.), who is 3-1 with a 1.95 ERA in 37.0 innings pitched. On the back end, Minnesota Crookston looks to closer Zach Seipel (So., RHP, Eagan, Minn.), who boasts a 1.59 ERA with five saves on the season. In addition to the pair, Cody Pamperin (Sr., RHP, Shakopee, Minn.) has had his best season on the mound during the 2017 season. Pamperin is 1-3 with a 2.68 ERA in 37.0 innings pitched this season.

The Golden Eagles currently sit in a tie for eighth place with Bemidji State University as they have a 7-9 conference mark on the season.

Augustana comes into the weekend with an 18-13 (12-4 NSIC) record. The Vikings are tied with St. Cloud State University for second in the conference standings.
Augustana is led by the bat of Patrick O'Donnell, who is hitting .406 on the season with 33 runs scored, 13 doubles, six home runs and 25 RBI's. Kris Ashland has also been a big threat in the middle of the order for the Vikings as he is hitting .370 on the season with 19 runs scored, 10 home runs and 26 RBI's.

On the mound, Jacob Blank leads the way for the Vikings with a 6-0 mark with a 0.00 ERA in 32.1 innings pitched. In addition, Lincoln Voss comes in with a 4-1 record with a 1.98 ERA in 27.1 innings pitched. In the bullpen, Collin Lovell leads the way with a 2.10 ERA with five saves on the season.

The Vikings are coming off a pair of losses to St. Cloud State University. The weekend before, Augustana swept Northern State University in four games.
