CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston tennis team will host three matches this weekend at Choice Health & Fitness in Grand Forks, N.D. The schedule has changed due to the inclement weather in Sioux Falls, S.D., where two of the universities are located.

Minnesota Crookston will open up the weekend Sat., Feb. 25 at 10:30 a.m. against Bemidji State University. The Golden Eagles will then take on University of Sioux Falls Sat., Feb. 25 at 3 p.m. UMC will round out the weekend at 8 a.m. against Augustana University Sun., Feb. 26.

Minnesota Crookston enters the weekend with a 0-6 record. They are in their first season under the leadership of Head Coach Lee Meier, a former long-time assistant tennis coach at Crookston High School.

The Golden Eagles are led at the No. 1 position by Whitney Erickson (Jr., Spring Valley, Minn.), who comes into Saturday with a 0-5 mark. At No. 2 singles, Alyssa Petersen (Fr., Robbinsdale, Minn.) has recently made the move to the spot and is 0-2.

In doubles, the No. 1 pair of Whitney Erickson and Petersen enter with a 0-2 mark on the season.

Bemidji State comes into Saturday with a 5-2 overall record. The Beavers look to Morgan Opp at the No. 1 singles position with a 5-2 record on the season. At the No. 2 spot, Zoe Lindgren has posted a 5-2 record. In doubles, the No. 1 pairing of Lindgren and Opp enter the weekend with a 4-3 record.

Sioux Falls comes into the weekend with a 4-2 record on the season. Kara Bunkers leads the team with a 5-1 record at No. 3 singles. At the No. 2 slot, Tianna Duda comes in with a 3-3 record on the season.

In doubles, the No. 1 pair of Bunkers and Kylie Simons has posted a 2-0 record, while Bunkers has also paired with Abby Seigenthaler at the No. 2 spot for a 3-1 mark.

Augustana enters the weekend with a 5-2 record on the season. The Vikingsa are led at the No. 1 singles spot by Kornel Staniszewska, who has posted a 5-0 record on the year. At No. 2 singles, Berkley Darr is 3-2 on the season.

In doubles, the No. 1 pairing of Darr and Staniszewska is 4-1 on the year.
