WINONA, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston tennis team fell 9-0 to Winona State University Sat., Feb. 11 in Winona, Minn. Minnesota Crookston falls to 0-3 after the loss. The Warriors are 2-0 on the 2017 season.

In doubles, the No. 1 pair of
Whitney Erickson (Jr., Spring Valley, Minn.) and
Reanne Erickson (So., Fargo, N.D.) fell 8-1 to Rachel Gantz and Kaisey Skibba. At the No. 2 spot,
Adrianna Tiede (Fr., LeCenter, Minn.) and
Hanna Ruckheim (Fr., Parkers Prairie, Minn.) fell 8-0 to Justine Daane and Katie Scruggs. At No. 3 doubles,
Tien Nguyen (So., Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam) and
Ellen Dauphinais (Sr., Parkers Prairie, Minn.) fell 8-0 to Keara Thiele and Tayla Card.
In singles,
Whitney Erickson battled but ultimately fell 6-3, 6-4 to Skibba. At the No. 2 slot,
Reanne Erickson fell to Gantz, 6-0, 6-0. Ruckheim dropped the match at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0, to Daane. At No. 4 singles, Card upended Tiede, 6-0, 6-0. Dauphinais battled for several points against Scruggs at the No. 5 slot, but ultimately fell 6-2, 6-2. At No. 6 singles, Nguyen was defeated by Lauren Willkom, 6-0, 6-0.
Minnesota Crookston will return to the court Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. against Gustavus Adolphus College in a match played in Duluth, Minn.
