CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston volleyball team will wrap up the 2017 season this weekend as they hit the road to take on No. 4 Southwest Minnesota State University and University of Sioux Falls.
The Golden Eagles will open the weekend at No. 4 Southwest Minnesota State Fri., Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. They will wrap up the campaign Sat., Nov. 11 at 4 p.m. versus Sioux Falls.
Minnesota Crooskton
The Golden Eagles come into the final weekend with a 7-19 (4-13 NSIC) mark. Minnesota Crookston has won three of their last seven matches and they will look to build on that mark as they close out the season. Minnesota Crookston is led by recently announced All-NSIC Second Team pick
Kassi Green (R-Sr., OH, Anoka, Minn.). Green is fifth in the NSIC with 3.95 kills per set. She is seventh all-time in kills in the history of the program. In addition, she averaged 2.44 digs per set.
Kaycie Hagen (Sr., S, Savage, Minn.) is sixth all-time assists in the program's history. Hagen is tallying 8.59 assists per set for the Golden Eagles. She has helped Minnesota Crookston to 11.1 kills per set and a .160 hitting percentage.
Kelci Green (R-Sr., MH, Anoka, Minn.) has been a leader on the block and offensively for the Golden Eagles this season. Green needs just 31 total blocks and seven block assists to tie school records set by Erin Flynn. Green is averaging 2.09 kills and 0.80 blocks per set on the season.
Maggie Perrel (R-Sr., OH, New Germany, Minn.) has split time at outside hitter and libero for Minnesota Crookston. Perrel is tallying 0.50 blocks per set on the season, but leads the team with 3.43 digs per set on the year. She has split time at libero with
Becca Vandenheuvel (Sr., Lib., Cannon Falls, Minn.), who is averaging 3.07 digs per set on the season. The Golden Eagles have been strong overall on defense with 16.7 digs per set.
Southwest Minnesota State

The Mustangs come into the weekend with a 23-3 (15-3 NSIC) mark. Southwest Minnesota State is currently No. 4 in the nation. The Mustangs are led by NSIC Player of the Year Taylor Reiss, who is averaging 4.81 kills per set. Reiss is hitting .282 on the season. In addition, Kaylee Burmeister is tallying 3.17 kills per set with a .218 hitting percentage.
In addition, middle blocker Brooke Borchardt is tallying 2.73 kills per set and is hitting .402 on the season, while fellow middle Sarina Smith is notching 2.35 kills per set and hitting .365 on the season.
At setter, Megan Larson leads the way with 12.24 assists per set. She is helping Southwest Minnesota State to 15.1 kills per set and a .283 hitting percentage.
Defensively, the Mustangs have looked to Burmeister with 3.23 digs per set, while Reiss is notching 3.11 digs per set. On the block, SMSU looks to Smith's 0.91 blocks per set.
Minnesota Crookston at Sioux Falls

The University of Sioux Falls enters the weekend with a 13-10 (8-10 NSIC) record. The Cougars picked up a 3-1 win over Minnesota Crookston Sept. 22 with the Golden Eagles only losing the three sets by a combined 11 points.
Sioux Falls is averaging 12.7 kills per set on the season, while hitting .215 for the year. Makenna Rockeman leads the way with 3.38 kills per set from her outside hitter position. USF also looks to right side Bria Barfnecht with 2.57 kills per set. Middle hitter Lexi Scott is tallying 2.51 kills per set and hitting .316 on the season. The Cougars utilize two setters in their system. Megan Hamstad leads the team with 9.11 assists per set, while Krista Goerger is tallying 4.44 assists per set.
Defensively, USF has looked to 4.39 digs per set from Janelle Lam, while Barfnecht is averaging 2.40 digs per set. On the block, the Cougars look to 1.06 blocks per set from Scott, while Abby Feyereisen is notching 0.98 blocks per set.
