CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston tennis team will wrap up the 2016 season on Sun., April 10 with a pair of matches. The Golden Eagles will take on Minnesota State University-Mankato at 9 a.m. in St. Peter, Minn. UMC will then trek down the road to Owatonna, Minn., to face-off with Southwest Minnesota State University at 4 p.m.
Minnesota Crookston has been led on the 2016 season by the play of
Catherine Brown (Sr., Powell Butte, Ore.), who has put up a 6-7 mark at the No. 1 singles position on the season. The Golden Eagles enter the weekend with a 0-13 mark and are looking to end their season on a strong note. At the No. 2 spot in singles,
Whitney Erickson (So., Spring Valley, Minn.) comes in with a 2-11 mark.
In doubles, UMC is led by Brown and Erickson, who have posted a 3-10 mark at No. 1 doubles.
Minnesota State is 7-7 (5-4 NSIC) on the season. The Mavericks are led at No. 2 singles by Erin Streeter, who is 9-5 on the season. At the No. 3 slot, Killian Doran comes in with a 9-4 record at the No. 3 singles slot.
In doubles, the pair of Melissa Mashburn and Streeter comes in with a 6-3 record.
Southwest Minnesota State is 1-14 on the 2016 season. At No. 2 singles, Crystal Overbaugh is 1-11 on the season. At No. 4 singles, Ashley Hoehne is 4-10 on the season.
In doubles, the No. 2 pair of Hoehne and Britney Thompson are 3-11 on the season.
