BISMARCK, N.D. – The University of Minnesota Crookston tennis program fell 8-1 to Minnesota State University Moorhead Sat., April 2 in Bismarck, N.D. The Golden Eagles fall to 0-12 on the season with the loss.
Minnesota Crookston was led by a win at No. 1 doubles, as
Catherine Brown (Sr., Powell Butte, Ore.) and
Whitney Erickson (So., Spring Valley, Minn.) picked up their third doubles win of the season. The pair upended Jessamy Jones and Ashley Wood, 8-6. At No. 2 doubles,
Bailey Morris (Fr., Crookston, Minn.) and
Reanne Erickson (Fr., Fargo, N.D.) fell 8-0 to Jade Goodyear and Ricquel Ramsbottom. At No. 3 doubles,
Emily Campbell (Jr., Aitkin, Minn.) and
Tien Nguyen (Fr., Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam) fell to Morgan Smith and Jamie Freden, 8-0.
In singles, Brown put up a battle at No. 1 but fell to Jones, 6-2, 7-6. At the No. 2 slot,
Whitney Erickson dropped her match to Goodyear, 6-2, 6-1. At No. 3 singles, Morris fell to Smith, 6-0, 6-0. At No. 4 singles,
Reanne Erickson fell to Wood, 6-1, 6-0. At No. 5 singles, Campbell was upended by Ramsbottom, 6-0, 6-0. At the No. 6 slot, Nguyen fell 6-0. 6-0 to Freden.
Minnesota Crookston will take on U-Mary in Bismarck, N.D. on Sun., April 3.
