CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston tennis team will take on Augustana University and University of Sioux Falls in a pair of matches in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Golden Eagles will take on Augustana Sat., Sept. 27 at 6:30 p.m. They will then take on Sioux Falls Sun., Sept. 28 at 9 a.m.
The Golden Eagles come in with a 0-5 mark on the season, in Head Coach
Ryan McGuigan's second season. UMC has been led on the season by
Catherine Brown (Sr., Powell Butte, Ore.), who has posted a 3-2 mark at No. 1 singles so far to begin her final season in the Maroon and Gold. In addition,
Whitney Erickson (So., Spring Valley, Minn.) is 1-4 at No. 2 singles.
In doubles, Brown and Erickson are 1-4 at the No. 1 doubles slot on the 2016 season.
Augustana is 6-0 on the 2016 season thus far. The Vikings are led by Sydney Postal, who is 4-0 at the No. 3 singles slot. Christine Olivo comes in with a 4-1 mark at No. 5 singles. In doubles, the No. 1 duo of Jessa Richards and Kornel Staniszewska is 5-1 on the season.
Sioux Falls comes into the weekend with a 6-2 overall mark on the season. The Cougars are led by Kara Bunkers in singles, who is 5-1 on the season. Stacey Beard enters the weekend with a 4-2 mark at No. 4 singles.
In doubles, the Cougars are led by Emily Erickson and Allison Kauss, who are 6-2 at the No. 1 doubles slot.
