CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston football team will look to get in the win column Sat., Nov. 5 as they head to Aberdeen, S.D. to face Northern State University at 1 p.m. at Swisher Field. The Golden Eagles are 0-9 on the season, while the Wolves enter with a 5-4 mark on the season.

Rod Stewart continues to come into his own as a receiver. The Fort Worth, Texas native had a big weekend against UMD with six catches for 166 yards, including an 88-yard touchdown catch from a well-thrown
Nathan Cole ball. Stewart might not be the famous
Rod Stewart who made "Maggie Mae" famous, but he is becoming famous in his own right in Crookston.

Junior Wide Receiver
Adam Connette is leading all-time receiver in UMC history after surpassing career marks for receptions and receiving yards on Homecoming against U-Mary. Connette needs 11 touchdowns to set the career touchdown mark, he recently surpassed Marcus Cheatham and Mark Olsonawski to move into second all-time for receiving touchdowns with 13. Connette has been the leading offensive threat for the Golden Eagles with 61 catches for 678 yards and four touchdowns. In his career, Connette has 166 receptions for 1,977 career yards. He needs just 23 yards to become the first receiver in program history to accumulate more than 2,000 yards through the air.

Isaiah Armstrong has been UMC's top pass-rush threat this season with 5.5 sacks on the year. Armstrong has really come into his own in the last half of the season. He has 4.5 sacks in the last five games. He had a bone-crushing hit on a sack last weekend against Minnesota Duluth. The senior will look to continue to make an impact in his final two games of his career in the Maroon and Gold. Armstrong currently has 36 tackles on the year with 6.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks.

UMC linebacker
Will Cross has become UMC's defensive leader this season as only a redshirt freshman. Cross has 72 tackles on the season, including 51 during the month of October in order to earn UMC Teambackers Male Student-Athlete of the Month honors. Cross has 4.5 tackles for loss on the year, a half sack and an interception. He will look to finish out his freshman year on a strong note over the next two games.

- The Golden Eagles come into the weekend with an 0-9 mark. They are looking to snap their losing streak as they head out on the road to Aberdeen, S.D. to face Northern State University. Minnesota Crookston did a lot of positive things against No. 18 Minnesota Duluth last weekend. Quarterback
Nathan Cole has one of his strongest games of his career going 12-of-22 for 232 yards and two touchdowns. This week he will look to get the ball even more to top targets

Adam Connette, who both had good weekends against UMD.
- UMC will look to get the running game going against Northern State. The Golden Eagles have struggled on the ground in recent weeks. They had just eight yards on 43 carries against the Bulldogs.
Andre Person comes into
Saturday with 578 yards on 167 carries with two touchdowns.

Mike Maw has had a strong season on field goals this season. The senior is 7-of-11 with a long of 36 on the year. He will look to continue to move up in the record books where he is already ranked second for field goals and extra points.
- Defensively, UMC has done a great job of getting turnovers in recent weeks. They have had six interceptions in the last three games. Last weekend senior
Kenneth McChristion came away with his first of the season. The Golden Eagles will look to come away with a big turnover or two against the Wolves this weekend.
Jake Newman and
Aeric Berner lead the team this season with two interceptions apiece.
- Northern State comes into Saturday with a 5-4 mark. Offensively, they are averaging 409.9 yards per game. They are a balanced offense led by running back Nicholas Truen, who has 841 yards rushing and eight touchdowns. Quarterback Christian McAlvain is a dual threat. He has rushed for 446 yards and eight touchdowns and passed for nearly 1,700 yards and 13 touchdowns. His top target on the season has been tight end Conner Doherty with 28 catches for 382 yards and seven touchdowns. Taylor Houchin enters the weekend with 26 grabs for 425 yards and two touchdowns.
- Defensively, the Wolves are giving up 384.2 yards per game. They are giving up 249.3 yards per game through the air. They look to Chad Stoterau to lead the way with 60 tackles, seven tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. In the defensive backfield, Channing Barber comes in with 47 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and three interceptions.
