2016 (Sophomore): Starter at corner for UMC with 10 starts on the season...Finished the season with team-high three interceptions, including 75 yard interception return for a touchdown against Minot State...Berner had 39 tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack on the year...He had eight pass break-ups and one fumble recovery...Berner had six tackles against SMSU. 

2015 (Freshman): Appeared in all 11 games with one start for the Golden Eagles...Notched 10 tackles with one fumble recovery.

Prior to UMC: Played wide receiver and defensive back for Antigo H.S...Rushed 48 times for 252 yards and two touchdowns...Tallied six receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown...Notched three interceptions on the season as a senior...An All-Conference football selection in 2013 and 2014...Named team captain for football and track in 2014...Led the conference in interceptions as a junior...Was All-Conference for track in 2013 and 2014...An All-Region and state qualifier for track in 2013.
