2017 (Redshirt): Sat out this season due to injury but will be back for his senior season to kick.
2016 (Junior): Started and played in eight games at safety as a junior...Newman was sixth on the team with 43 tackles on the 2016 season...He notched two interceptions, which was second on the team...Newman tallied seven tackles against MSU Moorhead...He also notched seven tackles versus Minot State...He tallied eight tackles versus Minnesota Duluth and Northern State.

2015 (Sophomore): Started and played in eight games at safety as a sophomore...Newman notched 58 tackles on the season, which was third on the team for the 2015 season...He notched one tackle for loss...Newman led the team in interceptions with three...He tallied three pass break-ups and led the team with two fumble recoveries...Newman tallied season-high 12 tackles versus Minot State...He tallied nine tackles versus St. Cloud State.

2014 (Freshman): Started to come into his own at the end of the season, making three starts at free safety...Appeared in seven games...Had 27 tackles...Notched 13 tackles against Northern State and had 10 tackles against Minnesota Duluth...Recorded nine tackles against MSU Moorhead...Tallied 36 tackles with two interceptions, one pass break-up and three pass deflections on the season.

High School: Ranked among the top 520 players in the state of Minnesota by Northstar Football News…High school teammates with current UMC player Mike Maw and fellow signee Noah Lee…Rushed one time for 33 yards…Had five kickoff returns for 116 yards as a senior…As a kicker, was 3-for-3 on the season for field goals and 9-for-9 on extra points...All-Conference pick as a senior and junior…Earned Big D Award for White Bear Lake football team...Captain for football and track.
