Crookston, Minn.- The University of Minnesota Crookston soccer team hosted their first of two games this weekend, Saturday afternoon, in an NSIC contest that finished a 0-0 draw. The Golden Eagles outshot the University of Sioux Falls, 7-6, in the conference match with UMC getting the only shot in the two overtime periods. Each team picks up a point in the NSIC standings with the draw.

Senior forward,
Kallie Gau (Monticello, Minn./Early Childhood and Elementary Education) got the lone overtime scoring opportunity with her shot going wide left of the Cougar net. Gau took two total shots in the Saturday contest, a number that was matched by her twin sister
Danielle Gau (Sr., Monticello, Minn./Exercise Science and Wellness).
Hannah Riveland (R-Fr., Moorhead, Minn.) and
Paige Pettit (Fr., St. Michael, Minn.) took the other Golden Eagle shots with both being saved by Cougar goalkeeper, Morgan Perkins ((So., Liberty, Mo.).

UMC's record now stands at 2-11-2, 1-9-2 in the NSIC and next they will take on a Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs team who lost, 2-1, earlier today to Bemidji State University. The Mustangs will enter Sunday's contest with an overall record of 5-9-1, 4-7-1 in the NSIC. Opening kick in Crookston is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
