Â
The Golden Eagles controlled the play through the first half with their best scoring opportunity coming in the 43
rd minute as freshman forward, Abe Aswege (West Bend, Wis.) tried to chip a ball over the Mustangs' goalkeeper from close in. The second half was a back and forth effort with SMSU getting the better scoring opportunities. UMC's freshman keeper,
Jacqueline Burke (Anchorage, Alaska) faced a number of shots but she was never really tested in the conference win.
Â
The game's only goal was scored in the 80
