CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston baseball team will travel to Augustana College (S.D.) for a mid-week series Wed., April 22 at 1 and 3 p.m. at Karras Park Home of Ronken Field in Sioux Falls, S.D.

The Golden Eagles enter the weekend with an 11-31 (5-21 NSIC) record. Minnesota Crookston has already achieved their most wins in a season with their 11th victory of the year over University of Mary Sunday. The Golden Eagles are just two wins shy of tying their mark for conference wins in a season set during the 2003 season.

Minnesota Crookston has been led on the season by Jesse Jennings (Sr., OF, Robbinsdale, Minn./Criminal Justice), who is hitting .345 with two doubles, two triples and one home run with 17 runs batted in (RBI's). In addition to Jennings, Kenny Perez (Jr., DH/IF, Orlando, Fla./Health Science) has been a great addition to the batting order, hitting .331 with 21 runs scored, a team-leading 15 doubles, four home runs and 28 RBI's. Ryan Haggstrom (Jr., 1B/RHP, Apple Valley, Minn./Accounting) has also been a lynchpin in the line-up, hitting .323 with 32 runs scored, 10 doubles, three triples and 25 RBI's.

Zach Frazier (R-Fr., C, Grand Rapids, Minn./Natural Resources) is coming off his best week at the plate for the Golden Eagles. Frazier hit .455 for the week with two runs scored, five RBI's, one double and one triple.

On the mound, the Golden Eagles are coming off strong performances from Nolan Wahlberg (Jr., RHP, Blaine, Minn./Criminal Justice) and Jarad Nelson (Jr., RHP, Karlstad, Minn./Education). Wahlberg picked up a win and a save last weekend against U-Mary, giving up two earned runs on eight hits with a 2.25 earned runs average (ERA) with eight strikeouts. Nelson put together one of his best outings of the season, going eight innings and giving up just oen earned run on four hits with five strikeouts.

Augustana has posted a 22-15 (13-9 NSIC) mark on the season. The Vikings are coming off two losses to Wayne State College (Neb.) Sunday. Augustana has been led on the season by Jacob James, who is hitting .452 with 39 runs scored, seven doubles, one home and 20 RBI's. Bryce Berg comes in with a .433 batting average, 24 runs scored, six doubles, five home runs and 34 RBI's.

On the mound, the Vikings have been led by Colton Fast, who is 5-1 with a 2.00 ERA in 36.0 innings pitched. Ryan Hamilton comes in with a 2-3 mark and a 4.53 ERa in 47.2 innings pitched.

The University of Minnesota Crookston is a NCAA Division II university located in the Red River Valley of Northwest Minnesota.
