Golden Eagles Host Montana Friday and Hit Road For Three in Duluth Saturday and Sunday

CROOKSTON, Minn.- The University of Minnesota Crookston tennis team will play four matches this weekend. The Golden Eagles will open up play at home at Choice Health and Fitness in Grand Forks, N.D. Fri., Feb. 20 at 5:30 p.m. against NCAA Division I foe University of Montana. UMC will then hit the road for an NSIC match Sat., Feb. 21 against St. Cloud State University at 5 p.m. in Duluth, Minn. They will conclude the weekend with matches against University of Minnesota Duluth and Gustavus Adolphus College Sun., Feb. 22 at 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

The Golden Eagles are 0-2 on the season. UMC is led at the No. 1 singles position by Catherine Brown (Jr., Powell Butte, Ore./Animal Science), who is 0-2 on the season. At No. 2 doubles, Brown and Whitney Erickson (Fr., Spring Valley, Minn./Early Childhood Education) come in with an 0-2 mark. UMC is in their first season under Head Coach Ryan McGuigan.

Montana comes into the weekend with a 1-4 mark overall. The Grizzlies are led at No. 1 singles by Precious Gbadamosi, who is 2-3 on the year. At No. 2 singles, Sasha carter is 3-2. In doubles, Gbadamosi and Laurence Pelchat are 2-3 overall.

St. Cloud State comes in with a 1-2 overall mark. The Huskies are led by El O'Brien, who is 1-2 at the No. 1
singles position. In doubles, Abigail Kantor and Alexie Portz come in with a 1-2 overall mark at the No. 1 slot.

Minnesota Duluth is 1-4 on the season. The Bulldogs are led by Alyssa Brunelli at the No. 1 singles position. Brunelli is 0-5 on the year. At No. 1 doubles, Brunelli and Kara Saemann are 1-4 on the year. The Golden Eagles picked up their only NSIC win of the year over UMD last season, defeating the Bulldogs, 5-4.

Gustavus Adolphus holds an 0-4 mark overall. They are led at No. 1 singles by Taylor Shortly, who is 1-1 on the season. In doubles, Shortly and Laura Martin come in with a 1-1 overall mark at the No. 1 spot.
