Box Score SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The University of Minnesota Crookston volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-15) to No. 20 Augustana University (S.D.). Friday night at the Elmen Center in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Golden Eagles battle at points but the No. 20 team was able to survive any threat put up by UMC. The Golden Eagles fall to 7-9 (3-5 NSIC) with the loss. Augustana improves to 12-4 (5-3 NSIC).

The Golden Eagles were led by their middle hitters on the day.
Kelci Green (R-So., MH, Anoka, Minn.) finished with nine kills and hit .471 for the match, while
Erin Schwarz (Jr., MH, Eden Prairie, Minn.) had eight kills and hit .571 for the match. Outside hitter
Stephanie Pearson (Sr., OH, Frankfort, Ill.) accumulated eight kills with a .111 hitting percentage.

Sierra Trost (Jr., S, Ham Lake, Minn.) finished with 29 assists as the Golden Eagles hit .192 for the match with 32 kills and 13 errors.

Pearson led the way with 11 digs, while
Maggie Perrel (R-So., RS, New Germany, Minn.) had eight digs.
Augustana was led by an unlikely source in Lauren Waite, who put together one of her best games of the season. Waite had 13 kills and hit .650 for the match. Dani Magdzas added 10 kills, while Sydney Hunsley and Ashley Wilson each had seven kills.

Augustana's two setters each finished with 22 apiece as they utilized Anna Sykora and Alex Banker.

Defensively, libero Tahlyr Banks led the way with 18 digs, while Brittany Cech had 11.
The Golden Eagles fell 25-17 in the first half. They were led by Pearson's six kills and four kills. Augustana looked to six kills from Waite and nine assists from Sykora.
UMC tested the Vikings in set two as they came back from 20-15 to make it 22-21 late. However, Augustana would take the set 25-21 on a Becca Finley kill.

Augustana would dominate set three and take it 25-15.
The Golden Eagles will continue their road trip as they face No. 10 Wayne State College (Neb.) at 4 p.m. in Wayne, Neb.
