Box Score Crookston, Minn.- The University of Minnesota Crookston volleyball team closed out a home weekend with a 3-1 win (22-25, 25-15, 25-19, 25-7) over Minnesota State University Moorhead, Saturday afternoon. The conference win ups the Golden Eagles conference record to 3-4, 7-8 overall.

The Dragons struck first as they took the opening game 25-22 but it was all UMC from there, including a convincing game four where the Golden Eagles dominated 25-7.

Sophomore right side,
Maggie Perrel (New Germany, Minn./Biology) led the UMC attack as she had a team high 12 kills and was among the team leaders in digs with ten. Senior outside hitter,
Stephanie Pearson (Frankfort, Ill./Accounting and Finance) also had a great two-way night as she chipped in with 14 digs and was second in kills with nine in the four-game match.

Defensive specialist, Becca Vandenheuval (So., Cannon Falls, Minn./Elementary Education) was the dig leader with 22, while
Sierra Trost (Jr., Ham Lake, Minn./Biology) set up the UMC attack with 39 total assists. Trost also led UMC in aces (3).

The Golden Eagles will return to the road next weekend when they will travel to #19 Augustana University and #11 Wayne State College for a pair of NSIC matches. Friday's match in Sioux Falls is scheduled to start 7:00 pm, with Sunday's match, in Wayne, starting at 4:00 pm.
