(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Tennis team opens the home portion of their schedule on Friday, March 2 and Saturday, March 3 with a pair of non-conference matches at Center Court Fitness Center in Grand Forks, N.D. The Golden Eagles will face the University of Minnesota Morris at 6 p.m. on Friday and the University of Sioux Falls at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles have an overall and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) record of 0-5 after dropping matches to Bemidji State University (9-0), Augustana College (9-0) and the University of Minnesota Duluth (7-2) last weekend.
Amanda Pihlaja (So, Duluth, Minn.) has a 1-4 record in singles matches. Pihlaja and Cassie Jarvis (Sr, Sleepy Eye, Minn.) have a 1-4 record in doubles matches as do
Casey Paris (So, Fairmont, Minn.) and Holly Roepke (Jr, Osage, Minn.).
Golden Eagles vs. University of Minnesota Morris Friday, March 02 6 p.m.
The Cougars finished the 2011 season with an overall record of 4-8 and Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) record of 4-6. Preya Chunkapura is the top returning player having finished 7-5 in singles matches.
Golden Eagles vs. University of Sioux Falls Saturday, March 3 1 p.m.
The Cougars have an overall record of 1-6 after dropping matches to the University of Mary (6-3) and Minnesota State University Moorhead (8-1) last weekend. No other information on the University of Sioux Falls was available.
