Golden Eagle Women’s Tennis Squad Braces for Busy Weekend

(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Tennis team faces a busy weekend that sees the Golden Eagles taking part in three Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) matches over two days in Bemidji, Minn. U of M, Crookston faces Bemidji State University (BSU) on Friday, February 24 at 5 p.m. On Saturday, February 25, the Golden Eagles face Augustana College (AC) at 9 a.m. and the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) at 5 p.m.

The Golden Eagles hold an overall record of 0-2 and NSIC record of 0-2 after dropping an 8-1 decision to Minnesota State University Moorhead on February 10. Amanda Pihlaja (So, Duluth, Minn.) has a 1-1 record in singles matches.

Golden Eagles @ Bemidji State University        Friday, February 24            5 p.m.

The Beavers have an overall record of 0-2 and NSIC record of 0-0 after dropping non-conference matches to Macalester College and Northwestern College by 7-2 scores on February 4. They face the University of Sioux Falls in a non-conference match on Saturday, February 18. Miranda Milless is 2-0 in singles matches.

Golden Eagles vs. Augustana College            Saturday, February 25        9 a.m.

The Vikings have an overall record of 3-1 and NSIC record of 0-0 after defeating Morningside College 9-0 on February 12. They face Southwest Minnesota State University, Montana State University-Billings and the University of Mary on February 18-19. Liz Lewis is 6-0 in singles matches. Heather Sullivan and Michelle Wadas are each 5-1. The team of Sullivan and Hannah Gebauer are 4-0 in doubles matches while the team of Wadas and Kathrynn Jesperson are 4-1.

Golden Eagles vs. University of Minnesota Duluth    Saturday, February 25        5 p.m.

The Bulldogs have an overall record of 2-2 and NSIC record of 0-1 after dropping a 5-4 decision to the College of St. Scholastica on February 17. They face the University of St. Thomas on February 18. Katie Bolf is 4-0 in singles matches. Brittany Thompson is 3-1. The team of Alyssa Brunelli and Kara Saeman are 3-0 in doubles matches.
