Seeking Conference Win No. 1
After losing narrowly to Bemidji State University, the Golden Eagles will be seeking their first conference victory or hopefully victories as they take to the road to face University of Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State University this weekend.

Brittani Wiese has had a great first three years at UMC despite missing the end of last season due to a knee injury. The senior guard leads team in scoring averaging 16.6 points per game. Wiese currently has 977 points in her career needing only 23 to become the seventh member of the 1,000 point scoring club at UMC joining all-time scoring leader Jamie Zelinsky, Karna Plaine, Kari Score, Steph Mayclin, Jess Forsline and Bri Zabel.

Tyson Closing in on Rebound Record
Senior Center
Laurie Tyson has been a force on the boards for her four seasons at UMC. Tyson has 529 rebounds in her career and needs just 43 to surpass Kari Score's school-record of 572 boards.

Fantastic Freshman Class
So far the Golden Eagles have gotten great
production from a strong freshman class led by Alexa
Thielman and redshirt freshman
Jaya Perkins, who are currently starting for the Golden Eagles. Thielman is currently averaging 8.2 points per game (third on the team), while
Perkins is averaging 8.0 points per game.
Katrina Moenkedick is fourth on the team in scoring with 8.0 points per game.

UMC will stay on the road as they face University of Minnesota Duluth Friday at 6 p.m. and St. Cloud State Saturday at 4 p.m. The Golden Eagles will be looking to rebound after a tough loss to Bemidji State University on the road last Saturday to open conference play.
Previewing the Golden Eagles
The University of Minnesota, Crookston comes into the weekend with a 3-2 (0-1 NSIC) mark.
The Golden Eagles have been led through five games by strong guard play featuring senior guard
Brittani Wiese, a 2011 All-NSIC second team pick, who is averaging 16.6 points per game. Wiese is shooting 55.0 percent from the field and 46.2 percent from beyond the arc so far this year. Wiese is joined in the back court by
Ashley Martell, a sophomore who is averaging 12.6 points per game and is shooting 44.1 percent from behind the three-point line. Freshman
Alexa Thielman has also gotten off to a strong start on the season, as she is averaging 8.2 points per game. The Golden Eagles are averaging 72.8 points per game compared to 64.8 points per game for their opponents.
UMC is getting out-rebounded on the season 39.2 to 38.2. The Golden Eagles are led on the boards by
Laurie Tyson, a senior who is averaging 7.8 rebounds per game.
Previewing the Bulldogs
The University of Minnesota Duluth enters the weekend with a 3-2 (0-1 NSIC)
record. The Bulldogs fell 80-60 to St. Cloud State University to open conference play last weekend. UMD is paced offensively by forward Katrina Newman, who is averaging 18.2 points per game. Two other players are averaging double-figure scoring for the Bulldogs as forward Hannah Rutten averages 12.6 points per game and Alyssa Kerkhoff averages 12.0 points per game. The Bulldogs are out-scoring their opponents 69.4 to 68.4.
On the boards, Newman leads the team averaging 10.0 rebounds per game while Hannah Rutten is averaging 9.2 rebounds per contest.
Previewing the Huskies
St. Cloud State University enters the weekend with an unblemished 5-0 (1-0 NSIC) mark. The Huskies will host Bemidji State University Friday before playing UMC Saturday. St. Cloud State opened the NSIC season last weekend with a 80-60 win over Minnesota Duluth. The Huskies have been paced offensively by forward Jessica Benson and guard Sam Price, who are each averaging 17.4 points per game. Price comes into the weekend shooting 51.7 percent from beyond the arc. The Huskies are out-scoring opponents 76.4 to 53.0 so far this season.
On the boards, St. Cloud State has been paced by Jessica Benson's 6.8 rebounds per game.
