UMC Volleyball Falls 3-0 to St. Cloud State

Box Score ST. CLOUD, Minn.  – The University of Minnesota, Crookston fell 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-18) to St. Cloud State University Thursday night at Halenbeck Hall in St. Cloud, Minn. The Golden Eagles fall to 11-13 (7-10 NSIC). The Huskies improve to 7-18 (3-14 NSIC).

The Golden Eagles struggled offensively on the night as they hit only .049 with 22 kills and 17 errors. UMC was paced by five kills from Amanda Swann (Sr., OH, Rochester Hills, Mich.). Alexandra Skeeter (Jr., OH, Milwaukee, Wis.), Brittany Looker (So., OH, Rochester, Minn.) and Morgan VanGerpen (So., MH, Overland Park, Kan.) each added four kills. Paige Mitchell (R-Jr., S, West Palm Beach, Fla.) led the team with 11 assists.

Defensively, UMC was led by Chelsea Wiesner (Jr., Lib., Rochester, Minn.) with 12 digs and Looker with 11 digs.

St. Cloud State hit .176 for the match with 37 kills and 18 errors. The Huskies were paced by Jordan Hansen's 12 kills. Dani Donmeier averaged nine kills while Kellan Flynn chipped in eight kills. Setter Alison Butler guided the team with 34 assists on the night.

St. Cloud State was led defensively by Brianne Stamer's 24 digs. Donmeier completed a double-double for the match with 13 digs. On the block, the Huskies were paced by Ellie Dietzen's two solo blocks and two block assists.

UMC will return home Saturday for its final home match of the season as they take on No. 5 University of Minnesota Duluth at 2 p.m. at Lysaker Gymnasium.
