Paige Mitchell (West Palm Beach, Fla.) Signs National Letter of Intent with Golden Eagle Volleyball

(Crookston, Minn.)- University of Minnesota, Crookston Head Women's Volleyball Coach Lee Anderson announced today the signing of Paige Mitchell from West Palm Beach, Fla. to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles in 2011.

Mitchell is a 5-11 setter from Miami Dade College. In high school she was a four-year varsity team captain and was named Palm Beach All-County First Team. While red-shirting as a freshman at Miami Dade College, she earned the team's highest GPA award.

“We are very excited that Paige has decided to pursue her athletic goals at UMC,” comments Coach Anderson.  “She is a very talented and athletic setter that played with one of the best Junior College volleyball teams in the country for the past two years.  Her experience and athletic ability is going to increase the competiveness in the gym as a whole.”

Paige joins a very talented incoming class that includes: Brittany Looker (OH from Rochester, Minn.), Abby Cleveland (MH from Andover, Minn.), Morgan VanGerpen (MH/RS from Overland Park, Kan.), Mary Mikutowski (OH from Stillwater, Minn.), Hannah Schiller (DS from Coon Rapids, Minn.) and Lindsey Rees (S from Bronson, Mich.).
Mitchell plans to major in health sciences at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. She is the daughter of Debra and Keith Mitchell.

The University of Minnesota, Crookston is an NCAA Division II Institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). The Golden Eagle Equestrian team is a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA).
 
All signees are contingent upon admission to the University of Minnesota, Crookston and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.
