(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Volleyball team hosted the Bemidji State Beavers today in the team's final home match of the season. The UMC seniors were recognized before the match and all contributed in the 3-1 (25-23, 25-22, 20-25, 25-19) NSIC victory.
 
Senior Danielle Rueter (OH, 5-9, Sr., Burlington, Wis.) finished the match with 10 kills and a match-high four service aces. Kelsey Matykowski (S, 5-7, Sr., Sun Prairie, Wis.) and Janie Bauer (S, 5-8, Sr., Menomonie, Wis.) did the setting for UMC and finished with 14 and 12 assists respectively. Anastasia Molnar (MH, 6-3, Sr., Bemidji, Minn.) finished with one solo block and two block assists in the contest. Brittany Looker (OH, 5-10, Fr., Rochester, Minn.) led the Golden Eagle offense with 17 kills. Chelsea Wiesner (DS, 5-8, So., Rochester, Minn.) and Morgan VanGerpen (MH, 6-0, Fr., Overland Park, Kan.) led the Minnesota, Crookston defense in the match. Wiesner finished with 22 defensive digs while VanGerpen led all players and tied a career-high with eight block assists.
 
Bemidji State was led by Bethany Thompson who finished with 18 kills. Setter JessiBeth McCannell finished with 49 assists and eight digs. Defensively Elissa Christensen tallied 24 defensive digs while Rachel Craig earned four block assists.
 
Minnesota, Crookston moves to 12-16 overall this season and 6-12 in NSIC play. Bemidji State falls to 6-19 overall and 3-15 in conference play. The Golden Eagles close out the 2011 season next Friday and Saturday when the team travels to Upper Iowa and Winona State. Match times are set for 7 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday.
