(Fayette, Iowa)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Volleyball team traveled to Fayette, Iowa on Friday to take on the Peacocks in an NSIC contest. The Golden Eagles defeated UIU on October 28 3-2 but the Peacocks tied the season series with a 3-0 victory (25-18, 25-19, 25-23).

Minnesota, Crookston as a team played very solid in the match. The team struck at a .344 (43K-12E-90TA) clip, including a .385 attack percentage in set two. Brittany Looker (OH, 5-10, Fr., Rochester, Minn.) had an outstanding match leading all players with 17 kills and a career-high.517 (17K-2E-29TA) attack percentage. Kelsey Matykowski (S, 5-7, Sr., Sun Prairie, Wis.) tallied 20 assists at the setter position. Defensively, Danielle Rueter (OH, 5-9, Sr., Burlington, Wis.) and Chelsea Wiesner (DS, 5-8, So., Rochester, Minn.) earned 10 digs each in the contest.

Upper Iowa was led by Kristy Hinrichs who finished with 13 kills. Skylar Lesan led all setters with 37 assists and Sara Vance led all players with three service aces.

Minnesota, Crookston moves to 12-17 overall this season and 6-13 in NSIC play. UIU advances to 15-14 overall and 8-11 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles close out the 2011 season on Saturday when the team plays Winona State. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.
