(Aberdeen, S.D.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Volleyball team left the friendly confines of Lysaker Gymnasium after five straight home games to play Northern State University in Aberdeen, S.D. The Wolves used the home court advantage to take the 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-22) NSIC victory.

Brittany Looker (OH, 5-10, Fr., Rochester, Minn.) led the Golden Eagle offense with nine kills in the match and added 10 defensive digs. Paige Mitchell (S, 5-11, So., West Palm Beach, Fla.) led the Minnesota, Crookston setter core with 10 assists. Chelsea Wiesner (DS, 5-8, So., Rochester, Minn.) led UMC with 14 defensive digs. Katie Miedtke (MH, 5-10, So., Maple Grove, Minn.) led all players with seven block assists and one solo block. The Golden Eagle defense combined for 11 total blocks in the match.

Northern State was led by Konefesi Vaisigano who earned a match-high 10 kills. Morgan Richardson led all setters with 30 assists while Kaili Aiono and Ella Cambell led the Wolves with 12 digs each.

Minnesota, Crookston is 7-10 overall this season and 2-6 in conference play. Northern State advances to 8-7 overall and 3-5 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles return to the court on Sunday to play the University of Mary. The match is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Bismarck, N.D.
