(Sioux Falls, S.D.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Volleyball team took to the court this evening at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Golden Eagles were looking to snap a two game skid and came out and played a solid game tonight earning double digit kills in the first four sets. The Vikings equaled UMC's play and earned double digit kills in all five sets and snuck away with the 3-2 (25-16, 17-25, 25-15, 20-25, 15-12) NSIC victory.
 
The Golden Eagle offense was led tonight by Brittany Looker (OH, 5-10, Fr., Rochester, Minn.) who led the team with 18 kills and added a match-high and career-high five service aces. Amanda Swann (OH, 6-0, Jr., Rochester, Mich.) continues to play outstanding volleyball finishing with a season-high 16 kills and a .382 (16K-3E-34TA) attack percentage. Paige Mitchell (S, 5-11, So., West Palm Beach, Fla.) and Janie Bauer (S, 5-8, Sr., Menomonie, Wis.) split the setting duties in the match tonight. Mitchell finished with 26 assists while Bauer finished with a career-high 23 assists. Libero Chelsea Wiesner (DS, 5-8, So., Rochester, Minn.) led all players on defense with 22 digs.
 
Augustana was led by Holly Hafemeyer who finished with a match-high 19 kills. Dani Haley led all players with 57 assists while Kayla Wallerich finished with 20 defensive digs.
 
Minnesota, Crookston is 8-13 overall this season and 3-9 in conference play. Augustana advances to 11-8 overall and 5-6 in the NSIC. UMC returns home on Tuesday, October 18 to host Minot State in a non-conference “Dig Pink” match. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
