(Wayne, Neb.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Volleyball team took the long bus trip to Wayne State in Wayne, Neb. tonight. The Wildcats played strong defense with nine team blocks and added eight service aces in the 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-14) NSIC victory.
The Golden Eagle offense was led by
Brittany Looker (OH, 5-10, Fr., Rochester, Minn.) and
Alyssa Schneider (MH, 6-0, So., Racine, Wis.) who recorded seven kills apiece. Looker also finished tied for second on the team with 14 defensive digs.
Janie Bauer (S, 5-8, Sr., Menomonie, Wis.) tallied 11 assists and was the third setter of the season to lead the Golden Eagles in assists. Libero
Chelsea Wiesner (DS, 5-8, So., Rochester, Minn.) led all players with 24 defensive digs.
Wayne State was led by Tali Fredrickson who recorded a match-high 11 kills. Tatum Wroblewski earned a match-high 32 assists while Leigh Connot tallied 20 defensive digs.
Minnesota, Crookston is 8-12 overall this season and 3-8 in conference play. Wayne State advances to 14-5 overall and 7-3 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles return to the court tomorrow when they play Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D. First serve is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
