St. Joseph, Mo. -- Minnesota Crookston men's golf will tee off their third tournament of the season at the Missouri Western State Holiday Inn Express Invitational in St. Joseph, Mo.
Â
The Invitational will take place at the St. Joseph Golf Club and will be a two day, three-round tournament.
Â
Minnesota Crookston has had some success at the same tournament, as they shot the seventh lowest round in program history, carding a 290 as a team.
Â
The Golden Eagles are coming off a fifth place finish at The Fall Brawl two weekends ago.
Â
Marc Bofarull Balleste (Sr., Barcelona, Spain) led the way for the Golden Eagles their last time out, finishing in a tie for fourth after a final round 72 and 144 through the tournament. Bofarull Balleste ended the tournament with six birdies.
Â
Fellow senior Andrew Wilhelm (Sr., Fargo, N.D.) shot a second round 67 at The Mule to open the season, which tied the school record.
Â
Freshmen Brock Burhans (Fr., Detroit Lakes, Minn.) and Kolby Koerner (Fr., Grand Forks, N.D.) have been in the lineup for both tournaments this fall season.
Â
It will be another challenging field and competition for the Golden Eagles, as has been common under Brad Heppner. Central Missouri, Rogers State, Washburn, Arkansas-Fort Smith, Central Oklahoma, Iowa Western Community, Missouri Southern State, Missouri Western State, Rockhurst, Nebraska Wesleyan, Dodge City Community College, Newman, Sioux Falls, Pittsburg State and Southwest Baptist join Minnesota Crookston competing in St. Joseph.
Â
The two rounds will be played on Monday, with the final round coming on Tuesday.
