Former Minnesota Crookston Pitcher Isaac Roers Signs with Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks

FARGO, N.D. - Former University of Minnesota Crookston pitcher Isaac Roers (Stacy, Minn.) was signed to play professional baseball for the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks of the American Association of Professional Baseball. 

Roers joins former Golden Eagle Jake Hjelle (East Grand Forks, Minn.) on the RedHawks. Jake Dykhoff (Wadena, Minn.) was a member of the RedHawks, but recently had his rights transferred to the Baltimore Orioles organization. Will Zimmerman (Park River, N.D.) is playing for the Sussex County Miners, while Conner Richardson (Grand Forks, N.D.) is a member of the Cleburne Railroaders.

The Golden Eagles have had 12 players who graduated from Minnesota Crookston play professionally. Additionally, Alex Koep (Parkers Prairie, Minn.) was rostered by the RedHawks but did not play in a game earlier this season. Mike Hallquist (Fargo, N.D.), Parker Stroh (Grand Forks, N.D.), and Parker Hanson (Hawley, Minn.) did not finish their careers with the Golden Eagles, Hanson did graduate, but also played professionally. Roers, Hjelle, Dykhoff, Zimmerman, Richardson, Jake Osowski, Brody Sorenson, Hallquist, and Stroh all have played for the RedHawks, while Koep was rostered. 

Roers finished his career with a 13-9 mark and a 5.98 ERA in 155 innings pitched with four saves, 76 appearances and 12 starts. He struck out 139 and walked 68. Roers set the school record for career appearances and single-season appearances. He ranked tied for fifth for wins, tied for sixth for saves, and seventh for strikeouts.
