CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston baseball team is set for a three-game series with the University of Jamestown Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22 at Jack Brown Stadium in Jamestown, N.D.
The NSIC series will be the first for the Golden Eagles and Jimmies as Jamestown joined the NSIC prior to the start of 2026 season. Minnesota Crookston is 0-4 all-time against the Jimmies. The two squads have not met since February 26, 2012 in Minneapolis, Minn.,with Jamestown winning 8-3.
Minnesota Crookston enters the week with an 11-10 (4-5 NSIC) mark. They are coming off being swept against Wayne State in Nebraska last week. The Golden Eagles are currently tied for seventh with Minot State and Northern State entering Saturday. Jamestown comes in with a 5-16 (1-8 NSIC) record. The Jimmies were swept by Augustana last week.

The Golden Eagles come in hitting .308 as a team, which ranks third in the NSIC. Minnesota Crookston has 191 runs scored, 40 doubles, three triples, 26 home runs, and 153 RBI. They have a .488 slugging percentage. Minnesota Crookston is guided by freshman Elias Leach (OF, Plymouth, Minn.), who has made an instant impact. Leach is swinging .423 with 22 runs scored, nine doubles, three home runs, and 20 RBI. In addition, Jackson Fliflet (R-So., C, Wahpeton, N.D.) comes in hitting .377 with a team-high 25 runs scored, five doubles, seven home runs, and 21 RBI. He has an amazing .803 slugging percentage. Tori Uhlich (Jr., OF, Wahpeton, N.D.) has set the tone from the leadoff spot, batting .341 with 23 runs scored, eight doubles, and 15 RBI. Minnesota Crookston is seeking more consistency on the mound. The Golden Eagles enter with a 7.20 ERA in 173.2 innings pitched. They have 142 strikeouts and 98 walks. Southpaw Ashton Detloff (Fr., LHP, Perham, Minn.) has made an instant impact, going 3-1 with a 5.28 ERA in 15.1 innings pitched. Opponents are hitting .208 against Detloff. Isaac Hanson, a sophomore from Brainerd, is guiding the path for Jamestown with a 2-1 mark and a 5.32 ERA in 22 innings. He has 22 strikeouts and just six walks. Out of the bullpen, Payton Hochhalter has one save in 12.1 innings with a 5.11 ERA in six appearances. Nolan McCaffery has made five starts, and has a 1-2 mark and a 6.00 ERA in 18 innings.
