Crookston, Minn. - The Golden Eagles wrapped up their home schedule today with game two of their home series against the South Dakota State University Jackrabbits. In net for the Golden Eagles was Adam Goody (Jr., G, Airdrie, Alberta) with an 8-2-0 record. For the Jackrabbits, it was Addison Ronning with a 6-3-0 record. The Golden Eagles made sure this one was not nearly as tight as last night, winning 5-1.

The first period was all Golden Eagles, and it was two goals from one player. Just four minutes into the period, Braden Van de Kraats (So., F, Medicine Hat, Alberta) broke the ice with a goal from the slot. Aidan McPhee (Sr., D, Brea, Calif.) and Logan Syrup (5th, F, Park River, N.D.) assisted on the goal. Three minutes later, Van de Kraats put home his second of the game on the powerplay to go up 2-0. Mason Romfo (So., F, Langdon, N.D.) had the only assist. The first period came to an end with that score still standing.

The second period was a lower scoring period, with just one goal five minutes in. Ashton Witte scored to make it a one goal game with a strange shot right in front of Adam Goody. The second period also allowed the Jackrabbits to bring the shots to a closer total, with the Golden Eagles leading that category 27-17. The second period shots were 12-11 Golden Eagles.

The third period was all Golden Eagles, with Kadin Edwards (Fr., F, Crookston, Minn.) scoring six and a half minutes into the period to regain the two goal lead on a perfect passing play. Ben Hines (Jr., F, Detroit Lakes, Minn.) and Alexander Bailey (5th, F/D, Crosby, N.D.) assisted on the Golden Eagles' third goal. 33 seconds later, Braden Van de Kraats tipped home a point shot from Brandon Kelly (Jr., D, Minto, N.D.) who had the lone assist on the goal. It only took four and a half minutes following that one before Alexander Bailey put the Golden Eagles up 5-1. Ben Hines collected his second assist on the goal. The Golden Eagles closed out the third with a 5-1 win. Adam Goody made 21 saves on 22 shots against, securing his ninth win of the season.

The Golden Eagles will head to Bottineau, North Dakota next weekend to take on Dakota College at Bottineau on Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. to wrap up the regular season. The Golden Eagles will then head to Blaine, Minnesota for the WCCHA Tournament.
