CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston trap team is in fourth place out of six teams after the first week of the fall season in the USA College Clay Target League. Minnesota Crookston tallied 993.5 points. They currently lead Western Technical College, and Lake Area Technical College. They trail Alfred State College by 474.5 points. Southwest Wisconsin Technical College is in second place in Class 1A-Conference 7. Lindenwood University has 1,675.5 points to lead the conference.
Dessa Terning (Fr., Dassel, Minn.) made her debut for the Golden Eagles and is tied for 10th among female shooters in the entire league with a 24.00 average after her first week of competitive shooting. Terning is tied for fifth for female shooters in the conference.
Terning was the top shooter for Minnesota Crookston in week one, hitting 48-of-50 targets. Kallen Littler (So., Bemidji, Minn.) connected on 47-of-50 targets and is tied for 84th in the entire league. Jayden Bergerson (Sr., Gully, Minn.) hit 46-of-50 clay targets, as did Rebecca Morstad (So., Cavalier, N.D.), Chase Nelson (Jr., Red Lake Falls, Minn.), and Lucas Wavra (So., East Grand Forks, Minn.).
Austin Hughes (So., New York Mills, Minn.), and Codey Wolff (Sr., Wadena, Minn.) went 45-of-50 for the week. Ethan Benedict (Sr., Maple Grove, Minn.), and Allison Jepson (Jr., Frazee, Minn.) hit 44-of-50 clay targets. Eli Devore (So., Park Rapids, Minn.), Amelia Miller (Fr., Hastings, Minn.), and Hunter Pierson (Sr., Saint Hilaire, Minn.) went 43-of-50 for the week. Corey Walsh (So.), and Kara Wold (Jr., Belgrade, Minn.) connected on 42-of-50 targets. Kelsey Harms (Sr., Norwood Young America, Minn.), Mackenzie Ondrush (Jr., Climax, Minn.), Braxton Qual (Jr., Mahnomen, Minn.), and Heidi Zimmerman (Fr., Motley, Minn.) went 41-of-50 for the week. Louis Siegel (Jr., Anoka, Minn.) hit 40-of-50 clay targets.
Wolff hit 25-straight in competition last week. Bergerson hit 50-straight in practice, while Hughes hit 25-straight in practice.
